As Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and his friends Minho (Ki Hong Lee), Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), Frypan (Dexter Darden), Winston (Alexander Flores) and Teresa (Kaya Scodelario) are taken into sanctuary after their escape from the maze, to a safe haven facility where others like them stay. As Thomas finds out, things are definitely Not what they seem there at that facility, and something much worse awaits him and his friends. As they had to escape the literal maze they were in, they now must escape from the figurative maze out there in the wasteland world; where make new alliances are made and important ones are broken!

Some of these new alliances they make include a kid like them named Aris (Jacob Lofland), Brenda (Rosa Salazar), Jorge (Giancarlo Esposito), Mary (Lili Taylor), and Vince (Barry Pepper). In this installment, revelations are had, the stakes are higher and bigger things are headed on the horizon for the group! Since all of these things come into play through out the movie, it keeps you hooked from beginning to finish! Even the scenes that don't include action (and horrifying suspenseful moments), you are learning more about the characters and thus becoming more invested in them! This movie was well written and directed!

Director Wes Ball and screenwriter T.S. Nowlin are making are pulling it off quite nicely! As I have not read the books, I can only comment on the movies, and believe me, the movies totally work! Keep your eyes open for the 3rd installment coming in 2017 - The Maze Runner: The Death Cure! I know I will! If you haven't yet, give these Maze Runner films a shot; they're insanely entertaining!
