Movie Review

by Phillip Wilcox "Our Movie Demon"

Director Jason Lei Howden has brewed a tasty blend of the Horror genre and Metal music with this fun badass ride that will make you want to throw up your horns! As perfectly stated in the picture, "DEATHGASM - All caps, lowercase is for pussies."

After his meth-addicted mother gets arrested and sent away, Brodie (Milo Cawthorne) is forced to live with his religious Aunt and Uncle and their son David (Nick Hoskins-Smith) who tortures him every chance he gets, especially after he finds out Brodie is hanging out with his girlfriend Medina (Kimberly Crossman). Brodie's only escape is heavy metal music and the few new friends, Zakk, Dion, and Giles (James Blake, Sam Berkley, and Daniel Cresswell) he has found, and whom he forms a metal band with. When they come upon a relic piece of paper with a metal tune on it and decide to play it, LITERALLY all hell is unleashed on their town with an infestation of demons! It is up to Brodie and his friends to fight off Hell and save the town - With the help of Metal Music of course!

This flick was a lot of fun to watch and found it to have the same amount of insane energy as let's say, Peter Jackson's early work like "Dead Alive", and also the early work of Sam Raimi like "The Evil Dead"! DEATHGASM is a glorious spectacle of Gore and Metal Music that is unwavering in this generation's horror genre - More of Jason Lei Howden's directorial work? Yes, Please! Until then, DO check out this horror comedy on Amazon!
